So why would you want to find your friends IP address? Not thinking about doing anything illegal are you? Good.
If for any reason you wish to find someones IP address via MSN, you may follow these steps.
1. Open up MSN Messanger and click the tools menu, then select Options
2. Click the connections tab
3. Click the Advanced Settings button
4. Tick the checkbox that says “Save a log of my server connections to help troubleshoot connection problems”
5. The next step is to send your friend a file, video or audio request. By doing this, MSN will write interface information to a log file.
6. The log file is located in your “My Recieved Files” folder and will be called “MsnMsgr.txt”. Open this file up in notepad and look for a line that says “IPv4External-Addrs”. An example is below.
IPv4External-Addrs: 203.111.222.333
IPv4External-Port: 29050
IPv4Internal-Addrs: 192.168.0.10
IPv4Internal-Port: 4050
7. There will be two sections of the logfile with the IPv4External-Addrs line, one will be your IP address details and one will be the recipient address.
And your done!
